About the Rhenium PCB

Rhenium is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by Enderman8843, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 358.8 × 134.9 mm, with 204 components from 37 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the W25Q16JVUXIQ, USBLC6-2SC6 and ME2135A33M6G. By type, the board carries 86 diodes, 85 switches, 16 capacitors, 9 resistors, 4 ICs and 1 crystal.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

From the project

Rhenium is a Keyboard that is powered by RP2040 microprocessor that uses a USB-C,

Rhenium was named after the inspiration taken from the chromium browser!

Before that make sure the assemeble the keyboard and connect it via the usb-c , and to flash the firmware use the bootsel btn and read the above for both KMK and QMK ## Case Render

Rhenium: common questions

What microcontroller does the Rhenium use?

The Rhenium is built around the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Rhenium PCB?

The Rhenium measures 358.8 × 134.9 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Rhenium?

204 components, from 37 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Rhenium design files?

From the Enderman8843/Rhenium repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Rhenium design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Enderman8843. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Rhenium without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
