About the MECB IDE PCB

MECB IDE is an open source PCB design by epaell, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 99.8 × 99.8 mm, with 16 components from 12 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the ATF22V10C-15PU, 82C55A and 74AHCT04. By type, the board carries 4 connectors, 4 resistors, 3 ICs, 3 capacitors, 1 jumper and 1 diode.

From the project

I have confirmed that v1.0 of the board works using the 44-pin IDE connector. Note that Pin 20 of the 40 pin IDE header and the 44 pin IDE header should be removed as they act as a guide for devices/cables that plug directly into it:

MECB IDE: common questions

How big is the MECB IDE PCB?

The MECB IDE measures 99.8 × 99.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the MECB IDE?

16 components, from 12 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the MECB IDE design files?

From the epaell/MECB repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the MECB IDE design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with epaell. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
