About the Switch-Ornament PCB

Switch-Ornament is an open source ESP32 PCB design by esprit1711, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 38 × 13.5 mm, with 28 components from 17 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-C3FN4, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the XC6210B332MR-G and ST7735_0.96". By type, the board carries 13 capacitors, 4 resistors, 3 ICs, 2 connectors, 2 switches and 1 transistor.

It belongs with the power & battery designs in this gallery.

From the project

tinysest possible Gif Player that looks like a Nintendo Switch

Here, you will find everything to Copy my GIF Player, that looks like a Nintendo Switch. This Project use a 0.96" 80x160 Pixel TFT with st7735 Driver. The Source Code is based on the "ESP32-LGFX-SDCard-GifPlayer" Example of the "AnimatedGIF" library from "bitbank2". The Inspiration for this Project is the Nintendo Switch Ornamend from scottbez1 (you can find his Video in der Credits). He use a slightly bigger Screen, with much higher Resolution but i want the smalest possible Switch.

Switch-Ornament: common questions

What microcontroller does the Switch-Ornament use?

The Switch-Ornament is built around the ESP32-C3FN4, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Switch-Ornament PCB?

The Switch-Ornament measures 38 × 13.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.79 mm thick.

How many components are on the Switch-Ornament?

28 components, from 17 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Switch-Ornament design files?

From the esprit1711/Switch-Ornament repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Switch-Ornament design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with esprit1711. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Switch-Ornament without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
