About the CatFlap HA PCB
CatFlap HA is an open source ESP32 PCB design by FauthD, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a board, with 31 components from 20 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ESP32-C3_SUPERMINI, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the L7806. By type, the board carries 9 resistors, 8 capacitors, 5 diodes, 3 ICs, 2 transistors and 2 connectors.
It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

How to modify a "Sureflap Dualscan" for connecting to Home Assistant
It would be fairly easy for Petcare to produce a flap with Zigbee or another open protocol. However they do not seem to be interested in that. (And they miss the 20,000 new HA installations per Month - how many own a cat?).

CatFlap HA: common questions
What microcontroller does the CatFlap HA use?
The CatFlap HA is built around the ESP32-C3_SUPERMINI, from the ESP32 family.
How many components are on the CatFlap HA?
31 components, from 20 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the CatFlap HA design files?
From the FauthD/CatFlap_HA repository on GitHub, which has the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the CatFlap HA design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which FauthD chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the CatFlap HA without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
