About the Slice STPC PCB

Slice STPC is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by feastorg, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 100 × 145 mm, with 19 components from 15 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RaspberryPi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the AP63205. By type, the board carries 6 connectors, 6 capacitors, 2 diodes, 1 IC, 1 module and 1 switch.

It belongs with the robotics & motion and dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

From the project

Stepper driver carrier board for BRAED.

Stepper motor controller Slice for BREADS-compatible systems. This Slice is a carrier board for the Stepper_card board. It can carry up to four stepper cards, each with a DRV8825 stepper driver with microstepping and SPI pins for encoder reading.

Slice STPC: common questions

What microcontroller does the Slice STPC use?

The Slice STPC is built around the RaspberryPi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Slice STPC PCB?

The Slice STPC measures 100 × 145 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.67 mm thick.

How many components are on the Slice STPC?

19 components, from 15 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Slice STPC design files?

From the feastorg/Slice_STPC repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Slice STPC design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which feastorg chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Slice STPC without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
