About the Atu100wifi PCB

Atu100wifi is an open source ESP8266 PCB design by ftl, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 83.8 × 120.7 mm, with 23 components from 15 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the WeMos_D1_mini, from the ESP8266 family. Other key parts include the 4Bit_China_Level_Shifter, LTV-847, ULN2004A and Arduino_Nano_v3.x. By type, the board carries 7 resistors, 6 connectors, 4 ICs, 4 capacitors, 1 module and 1 inductor.

It belongs with the rf & radio, iot & wireless and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

A wifi adapter device for David Fainitski's ATU-100 antenna tuner (https://github.com/Dfinitski/N7DDC-ATU-100-mini-and-extended-boards)

This is a little extension device for David Fainitski's ATU-100 antenna tuner. It adds connectivity though wifi to use the tuner in a remote setup. The software publishes all measurement data using MQTT and accepts remote commands through another MQTT topic.

The device replaces the tuner's display. It communicates with the ATU-100 through it's I2C bus to grasp all the measurement data. An Arduino Nano acts as I2C slave, listening with the display's address, and interpreting the rendering commands coming from the ATU-100. The Nano sends the display content to an ESP8266 WeMos D1 mini, where…

Atu100wifi: common questions

What microcontroller does the Atu100wifi use?

The Atu100wifi is built around the WeMos_D1_mini, from the ESP8266 family.

How big is the Atu100wifi PCB?

The Atu100wifi measures 83.8 × 120.7 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Atu100wifi?

23 components, from 15 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Atu100wifi design files?

From the ftl/atu100wifi repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Atu100wifi design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which ftl chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Atu100wifi without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP8266 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
