About the Stm32-shift display PCB

Stm32-shift display is an open source STM32 PCB design by gcoonrod, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-NC-4.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 83.8 × 49.5 mm, with 109 components from 24 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F103C8T6, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the USBLC6-2P6, AMS1117-3.3, VDMY10C0 and 74HC595. By type, the board carries 61 resistors, 19 capacitors, 15 ICs, 5 switches, 3 connectors and 3 diodes.

It belongs with the displays & leds and dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

STM32 based 7-segment display development board

A proof-of-concept STM32 based development board designed for experimentation with 74x595 driven 7-segment LED character displays. The sponsored revision of the board is built out as a desk clock, the "STM32 Shift Clock".

Due to a generous sponsorship from PCBWay the current hardware revision (rev 2) includes a number of substantial design changes over the first revision: - All SMD components from rev 0 moved to the back. - Most THT components from rev 0 changed to hand-solder friendly SMD components. - Supercap backup for VBAT switched to more common CR2032 battery holder. - Addition of ESD…

Stm32-shift display: common questions

What microcontroller does the Stm32-shift display use?

The Stm32-shift display is built around the STM32F103C8T6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Stm32-shift display PCB?

The Stm32-shift display measures 83.8 × 49.5 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Stm32-shift display?

109 components, from 24 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Stm32-shift display design files?

From the gcoonrod/stm32-shift-display repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Stm32-shift display design in my own project?

It is published under CC-BY-NC-4.0, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.

Can I test firmware for the Stm32-shift display without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
