About the LoftrelayRound PCB

LoftrelayRound is an open source ESP8266 PCB design by gert-lauritsen, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 70.2 × 70.2 mm, with 33 components from 21 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP-12E, from the ESP8266 family. Other key parts include the AP2112K-3.3 and LTV-355T. By type, the board carries 13 resistors, 4 connectors, 4 diodes, 4 capacitors, 3 ICs and 2 transistors.

It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

From the project

Rundt relæ til loftmontage

Round ceiling-mounted relay module with ESP8266/Home Assistant integration, AC sense input, relay output, KiCad PCB files, LTspice simulation files, Gerber production files, interactive BOM, and 3D-printable enclosure files.

Mini version is for buildin. It does the same, just in a smaller version.

Loftrelæ Round is designed as a compact round relay module for ceiling installation. It is intended to fit into a round ceiling bracket or ceiling-mounted housing.

LoftrelayRound: common questions

What microcontroller does the LoftrelayRound use?

The LoftrelayRound is built around the ESP-12E, from the ESP8266 family.

How big is the LoftrelayRound PCB?

The LoftrelayRound measures 70.2 × 70.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the LoftrelayRound?

33 components, from 21 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the LoftrelayRound design files?

From the gert-lauritsen/Loftrel-Round repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the LoftrelayRound design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with gert-lauritsen. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the LoftrelayRound without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP8266 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
