About the MiniVersion PCB

MiniVersion is an open source ESP8266 PCB design by gert-lauritsen, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 56 × 27 mm, with 24 components from 14 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP-12E, from the ESP8266 family. Other key parts include the LTV-355T and VTX-214-003-203. By type, the board carries 11 resistors, 4 connectors, 3 ICs, 3 capacitors, 2 diodes and 1 fuse.

It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

From the project

Rundt relæ til loftmontage

Round ceiling-mounted relay module with ESP8266/Home Assistant integration, AC sense input, relay output, KiCad PCB files, LTspice simulation files, Gerber production files, interactive BOM, and 3D-printable enclosure files.

Mini version is for buildin. It does the same, just in a smaller version.

Loftrelæ Round is designed as a compact round relay module for ceiling installation. It is intended to fit into a round ceiling bracket or ceiling-mounted housing.

MiniVersion: common questions

What microcontroller does the MiniVersion use?

The MiniVersion is built around the ESP-12E, from the ESP8266 family.

How big is the MiniVersion PCB?

The MiniVersion measures 56 × 27 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the MiniVersion?

24 components, from 14 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the MiniVersion design files?

From the gert-lauritsen/Loftrel-Round repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the MiniVersion design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with gert-lauritsen. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the MiniVersion without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP8266 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
