About the Vipr PCB

Vipr is an open source PCB design by goog-yaml, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 30 × 65 mm, with 37 components from 24 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the SX1262IMLTRT, TP4056-42-ESOP8, BGS12P2L, MIC5219-3.3YMM and CH340X. By type, the board carries 16 capacitors, 7 resistors, 5 ICs, 3 connectors, 2 diodes and 2 inductors.

It belongs with the rf & radio, dev boards & breakouts and usb & debug tools designs in this gallery.

From the project

VIPR is a open source radio node designed and built around North American mesh communication over LoRa built off of an ESP32-S3 platform. Put less simply, VIPR is another ESP32 development board focused more on frontend, hardware, and size.

Simply put, VIPR is a open source radio node designed and built around North American mesh communication over LoRa built off of an ESP32-S3 platform. Put less simply, VIPR is another ESP32 development board focused more on frontend, hardware, and size. The project aims to create a small, pocketable radio node that can run independently. Currently the procsessing power of it's latest version (2.0) can only handle small workloads and can only run a Real Time OS in comparison to a fully fledged computer.

Vipr: common questions

How big is the Vipr PCB?

The Vipr measures 30 × 65 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Vipr?

37 components, from 24 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Vipr design files?

From the goog-yaml/vipr repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Vipr design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which goog-yaml chose for the repository.
