TITAN Vision System going into WHPSC 2022

These folders contain the files related to hardware designed to operate TITAN. They were all designed using KiCad 6.0.2.

The TITAN hardware is designed to primarily be a HAT (HArdware on Top) for the Raspberry Pi 3B+s we use for video. This form factor was chosen to reduce the overall footprint of the system compared to the original 2019 system which used a ribbon cable between the RPi and boards. This also reduces the chance of incorrect connections since the HAT can only be seated one way. At the heart of the HAT, there is an STM32F103C microcontroller which communicates with the RPis and…

TITAN Board: common questions

What microcontroller does the TITAN Board use?

The TITAN Board is built around the STM32F103C8Tx, from the STM32 family.

How big is the TITAN Board?

The TITAN Board measures 65 × 56 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the TITAN Board?

58 components, from 34 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the TITAN Board design files?

From the hpvdt/titan_2022 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the TITAN Board design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with hpvdt. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the TITAN Board without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
