About the KICK PCB

KICK is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by ijnekenamay, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 30 × 100 mm, with 27 components from 17 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ARDUINO_NANO_V3.X, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 11 resistors, 8 capacitors, 6 diodes, 1 module and 1 connector.

It belongs with the audio designs in this gallery.

From the project

eurorack modular synthesizers projects using Arduino.

The purpose of this is to PCB the project that HAGIWO is working on. The Kicad project files, including the circuit and panel designs, are now available. I'm just starting to learn more about circuit design, so if there are any issues with the design or the circuit itself, please let me know immediately!

- Most projects are designed to fit 6HP, but may be larger to accommodate PCB widths. - Please note that there is no guarantee for the PCB production itself, as there are few actual PCBs that have been produced and verified. - Please note that there is no guarantee for the PCB production…

KICK: common questions

What microcontroller does the KICK use?

The KICK is built around the ARDUINO_NANO_V3.X, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the KICK PCB?

The KICK measures 30 × 100 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the KICK?

27 components, from 17 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the KICK design files?

From the ijnekenamay/HAGIWOs_Module repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the KICK design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with ijnekenamay. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the KICK without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
