About the Quantizer PCB

Quantizer is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by ijnekenamay, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 30 × 99 mm, with 35 components from 21 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ARDUINO_NANO_V3.X, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the MCP4726. By type, the board carries 12 resistors, 9 diodes, 5 connectors, 4 capacitors, 2 switches and 1 IC.

It belongs with the audio designs in this gallery.

From the project

eurorack modular synthesizers projects using Arduino.

- This board has never actually been manufactured! I will get feedback and improve it. - Unlike the original, the control part and the main board were combined together, so the size is 10hp. - Kicad's error checking may show unconnected, but you are probably fine. - See the HAGIWO website for the Arduino code. - Files for the panel will be created as needed.

Quantizer: common questions

What microcontroller does the Quantizer use?

The Quantizer is built around the ARDUINO_NANO_V3.X, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Quantizer PCB?

The Quantizer measures 30 × 99 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Quantizer?

35 components, from 21 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Quantizer design files?

From the ijnekenamay/HAGIWOs_Module repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Quantizer design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with ijnekenamay. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Quantizer without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
