About the OtterStepMini PCB
OtterStepMini is an open source STM32 PCB design by Jana-Marie, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 68.4 × 50 mm, with 63 components from 26 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the STM32F072CBTx, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the STUSB4500, USBLC6-4, powerSTEP01, SE8633X2-HF and RS485. By type, the board carries 27 capacitors, 19 resistors, 7 ICs, 5 connectors, 4 diodes and 1 switch.
It belongs with the robotics & motion and power & battery designs in this gallery.
From the project
OtterStepMini is a user friendly, up to 48V 10A stepper-motor-driver with USB-CDC and USB-PD for desktop-applications.
OtterStepMini is a user friendly, up to 48V 10A stepper-motor-driver. It can be controlled via RS485 or USB-CDC and also comes with a 100W USB-PD input, for extra convinience on stepper-motor testing and for small desktop applications (e.g. 3D-scanner turntable).
The board has not been tested and should not be ordered yet.

OtterStepMini: common questions
What microcontroller does the OtterStepMini use?
The OtterStepMini is built around the STM32F072CBTx, from the STM32 family.
How big is the OtterStepMini PCB?
The OtterStepMini measures 68.4 × 50 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the OtterStepMini?
63 components, from 26 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the OtterStepMini design files?
From the Jana-Marie/OtterStepMini repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the OtterStepMini design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Jana-Marie. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the OtterStepMini without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
