Its main chip is the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the TLV73333PDBV, W25Q128JVS and MAX3243. By type, the board carries 21 capacitors, 12 resistors, 4 ICs, 3 switches, 1 crystal and 1 connector.
From the project
RS-232 adapter with an RP2040 chip
This repository contains design files and firmware for a board that can be used as an RS-232 (serial) to USB adapter. It has an RP2040 chip for the application logic and a MAX3243 chip for the serial interface.
The provided firmware supports classic serial mice, two types of 3D mice (Magellan/SpaceMouse and Spaceball 2003), the SpaceOrb 360 game controller, and can also act as a generic serial-to-USB adapter.

Rp2040-rs232: common questions
What microcontroller does the Rp2040-rs232 use?
The Rp2040-rs232 is built around the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.
How big is the Rp2040-rs232 PCB?
The Rp2040-rs232 measures 32 × 52 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Rp2040-rs232?
43 components, from 17 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Rp2040-rs232 design files?
From the jfedor2/rp2040-rs232 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Rp2040-rs232 design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with jfedor2. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Rp2040-rs232 without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
