Its main chip is the U1 ESP32_DEVKIT_30P, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the HX711, TMC2208 and LM2596 Buck Converter. By type, the board carries 9 connectors, 4 ICs, 4 resistors, 2 diodes, 2 capacitors and 1 fuse.

It belongs with the robotics & motion designs in this gallery.

From the project

Mini Tensile Tester Project

MACK-10 is an open-source desktop tensile tester designed to measure the force and displacement of small material specimens.

The project combines an ESP32-based controller, load cell, stepper-driven linear stage, custom PCB, and 3D-printed components to create a low-cost alternative to commercial material testing equipment.

The target capacity is 10 kg (~98 N), making MACK-10 suitable for testing:

MACK10 Controller V1: common questions

What microcontroller does the MACK10 Controller V1 use?

The MACK10 Controller V1 is built around the U1 ESP32_DEVKIT_30P, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the MACK10 Controller V1 PCB?

The MACK10 Controller V1 measures 80 × 85.7 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the MACK10 Controller V1?

23 components, from 21 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the MACK10 Controller V1 design files?

From the joehanko/MACK-10 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the MACK10 Controller V1 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with joehanko. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the MACK10 Controller V1 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
