About the MACK10 Controller PCB

MACK10 Controller is an open source ESP32 PCB design by joehanko, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 57.3 × 67.1 mm, with 43 components from 33 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the TMC2208, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the HX711, XIAO-C6, INA226, PCF8575 and MINI360. By type, the board carries 13 resistors, 9 connectors, 8 capacitors, 6 ICs, 3 diodes and 1 transistor.

It belongs with the robotics & motion designs in this gallery.

From the project

Mini Tensile Tester Project

MACK-10 is an open-source desktop tensile tester designed to measure the force and displacement of small material specimens.

The project combines an ESP32-based controller, load cell, stepper-driven linear stage, custom PCB, and 3D-printed components to create a low-cost alternative to commercial material testing equipment.

The target capacity is 10 kg (~98 N), making MACK-10 suitable for testing:

MACK10 Controller: common questions

What microcontroller does the MACK10 Controller use?

The MACK10 Controller is built around the TMC2208, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the MACK10 Controller PCB?

The MACK10 Controller measures 57.3 × 67.1 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the MACK10 Controller?

43 components, from 33 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the MACK10 Controller design files?

From the joehanko/MACK-10 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the MACK10 Controller design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with joehanko. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the MACK10 Controller without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
