About the VNA PCB

VNA is an open source STM32 PCB design by joshajohnson, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 100 × 66 mm, with 207 components from 78 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F373RCTx, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the TPD2S017, MAX2871, LP5912, MIC5366-1.8 and AD8319. By type, the board carries 74 capacitors, 66 resistors, 18 diodes, 17 ICs, 7 inductors and 6 connectors.

From the project

25MHz to 1.25GHz Vector Network Analyser

Design is feature complete, but not suitable for use. Due to hardware issues the error is unacceptably large, and as such I can not recommend assembling one of these.

VNA: common questions

What microcontroller does the VNA use?

The VNA is built around the STM32F373RCTx, from the STM32 family.

How big is the VNA PCB?

The VNA measures 100 × 66 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the VNA?

207 components, from 78 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the VNA design files?

From the joshajohnson/vna repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the VNA design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which joshajohnson chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the VNA without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
