About the Rc light controller switching PCB

Rc light controller switching is an open source NXP PCB design by laneboysrc, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 44 × 23 mm, with 18 components from 9 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the LPC824M101FDH20, from the NXP family. Other key parts include the MCP1703A-3302. By type, the board carries 9 transformers, 3 connectors, 3 capacitors, 2 ICs and 1 resistor.

It belongs with the rf & radio designs in this gallery.

Extensible RC car light controller with Web-based configuration tool

This is a new variant of the DIY RC Light Controller Mk4. It has 9 (Mosfet) switched outputs on standard 2.54 mm pin headers, 8 of them with two connections and one of them with 1 connection.

We are using the TSSOP-20 package of the LPC812 as it is easier to source (as of 2020) than the TSSOP-16 version, and we have plenty of space.

As of early 2021, many electronics components are out of stock due to global semiconductor shortage. This affects also the LPC812 microcontroller.

Rc light controller switching: common questions

What microcontroller does the Rc light controller switching use?

The Rc light controller switching is built around the LPC824M101FDH20, from the NXP family.

How big is the Rc light controller switching PCB?

The Rc light controller switching measures 44 × 23 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Rc light controller switching?

18 components, from 9 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Rc light controller switching design files?

From the laneboysrc/rc-light-controller repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Rc light controller switching design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which laneboysrc chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Rc light controller switching without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug NXP firmware against it before you order a PCB.
