About the Pico-Devboard PCB

Pico-Devboard is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by lekangji, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 21 × 51 mm, with 42 components from 21 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the TPSPX3819M5-L-3-3 and W25Q128JVS. By type, the board carries 17 capacitors, 11 resistors, 4 connectors, 4 diodes, 3 ICs and 2 switches.

It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts and power & battery designs in this gallery.

From the project

A custom rp2040 devboard, but with 16MB flash and a lot of extra features!

I wanted a more capable RP2040 board with significantly more flash memory and USB-C. Most dev boards limit storage and input options, so I designed one that supports USB-C, battery input, higher current capability, and voltage monitoring while staying in the same form factor.

- RP2040 microcontroller - 16MB QSPI Flash - USB-C - Battery input (Schottky diode OR-ing with USB) - 500mA LDO (10V max input) - VSYS voltage monitoring via resistor divider on ADC3 - Onboard power LED - Onboard GPIO25 LED - Bootsel + Reset button - Fully labeled GPIO pins

Pico-Devboard: common questions

What microcontroller does the Pico-Devboard use?

The Pico-Devboard is built around the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Pico-Devboard PCB?

The Pico-Devboard measures 21 × 51 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Pico-Devboard?

42 components, from 21 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Pico-Devboard design files?

From the lekangji/Pico-Devboard repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Pico-Devboard design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with lekangji. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Pico-Devboard without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
