About the Tomtho slim PCB

Tomtho slim is an open source Nordic nRF PCB design by lou12de39r, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 262 × 93.5 mm, with 130 components from 19 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the MDBT50Q-1MV2, from the Nordic nRF family. Other key parts include the USBLC6-2SC6 and MCP73831T-2ACI/OT. By type, the board carries 56 switches, 55 diodes, 7 capacitors, 5 resistors, 3 ICs and 2 connectors.

It belongs with the power & battery designs in this gallery.

Tomtho slim: common questions

What microcontroller does the Tomtho slim use?

The Tomtho slim is built around the MDBT50Q-1MV2, from the Nordic nRF family.

How big is the Tomtho slim PCB?

The Tomtho slim measures 262 × 93.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.2 mm thick.

How many components are on the Tomtho slim?

130 components, from 19 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Tomtho slim design files?

From the lou12de39r/tomtho-slim repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Tomtho slim design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with lou12de39r. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Tomtho slim without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Nordic nRF firmware against it before you order a PCB.
