About the HOMEBASE MNTL PCB

HOMEBASE MNTL is an open source ESP32 PCB design by malikkelly8, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 70.7 × 94.5 mm, with 43 components from 30 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-WROOM-E, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the MP2338GTL-P and CH340C. By type, the board carries 14 capacitors, 12 resistors, 11 connectors, 3 ICs, 2 transistors and 1 inductor.

From the project

Notebook for Malik Kelly to keep track of progress in ECE 445. Also a way for the rest of the FadeX staff to see progress.

FadeX is an adaptive nicotine tapering prototype developed for ECE 445. The project explores a safer, feedback-based way to reduce nicotine concentration over time while preserving the user's familiar puff routine. Instead of forcing large manual concentration jumps, FadeX uses puff behavior, user check-ins, and embedded control logic to calculate a gradual taper and prepare a target mixture.

HOMEBASE MNTL: common questions

What microcontroller does the HOMEBASE MNTL use?

The HOMEBASE MNTL is built around the ESP32-WROOM-E, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the HOMEBASE MNTL PCB?

The HOMEBASE MNTL measures 70.7 × 94.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the HOMEBASE MNTL?

43 components, from 30 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the HOMEBASE MNTL design files?

From the malikkelly8/ECE445-FADEX repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the HOMEBASE MNTL design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with malikkelly8. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the HOMEBASE MNTL without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
