About the Starble PCB

Starble is an open source ESP32 PCB design by MattOr-Creations, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 110.5 × 97.5 mm, with 7 components from 6 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-ESP32-C3-SMD, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the DHT11. By type, the board carries 2 ICs, 2 connectors, 2 switches and 1 resistor.

It belongs with the sensors and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

Note: Parts such as the 1x04 pin header and the two buttons were not included, the reason being that I already have those components at home.

Starble: common questions

What microcontroller does the Starble use?

The Starble is built around the XIAO-ESP32-C3-SMD, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Starble PCB?

The Starble measures 110.5 × 97.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Starble?

7 components, from 6 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Starble design files?

From the MattOr-Creations/Starble repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Starble design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with MattOr-Creations. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Starble without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
