About the My babys got led PCB
My babys got led is an open source ESP32 PCB design by mcqn, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 120 × 90 mm, with 35 components from 20 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ESP-13-WROOM-02, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the SN74AHCT125 and LM1117-3.3. By type, the board carries 10 resistors, 7 capacitors, 6 connectors, 4 fuses, 3 ICs and 3 diodes.
It belongs with the displays & leds designs in this gallery.
From the project
Simple ESP8266 board to drive WS2812 LED strips
An ESP8266 board to drive Neopixel/WS2812 LED strips, for plug-and-play use with an ATX power supply. The board is OSHW certified. Latest version now has three injection points with 8A fuses for safety, to manage the high power of ATX power supplies.
See the My Baby's Got LED product page on the MCQN website for full details.
The finished product is available for sale on Tindie:

My babys got led: common questions
What microcontroller does the My babys got led use?
The My babys got led is built around the ESP-13-WROOM-02, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the My babys got led PCB?
The My babys got led measures 120 × 90 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the My babys got led?
35 components, from 20 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the My babys got led design files?
From the mcqn/my-babys-got-led repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the My babys got led design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which mcqn chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the My babys got led without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
