About the Ikea fyrtur PCB

Ikea fyrtur is an open source ESP8266 PCB design by mjuhanne, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 44.5 × 22.5 mm, with 42 components from 25 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP-12F, from the ESP8266 family. Other key parts include the AMS1117-3.3 and Si7021-A20. By type, the board carries 17 resistors, 8 capacitors, 6 connectors, 3 ICs, 3 switches and 2 transistors.

It belongs with the iot & wireless, sensors and power & battery designs in this gallery.

ESP8266 WiFi module PCB for Ikea Fyrtur blinds

This is a ESP8266 WiFi module PCB to be used with Ikea Fyrtur or Kadrilj roller blinds. It substitutes the original Ikea Trådfri (Zigbee) based board.

Ready Gerber and BOM/component position files for PCB production and SMT assembly for JLCPCB.com - The tiny motor connector PCB should be desoldered from the original board and re-used. - The only self-sourced components are the ESP12F module, temperature sensor and fuse (The buttons and LED can be ordered or alternatively scavenged from the original board)

Ikea fyrtur: common questions

What microcontroller does the Ikea fyrtur use?

The Ikea fyrtur is built around the ESP-12F, from the ESP8266 family.

How big is the Ikea fyrtur PCB?

The Ikea fyrtur measures 44.5 × 22.5 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Ikea fyrtur?

42 components, from 25 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Ikea fyrtur design files?

From the mjuhanne/ikea-fyrtur repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Ikea fyrtur design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which mjuhanne chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Ikea fyrtur without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP8266 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
