About the Media Controller PCB
Media Controller is an open source ESP32 PCB design by mkhairyx, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 32 × 130 mm, with 34 components from 23 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ESP32-WROOM-32, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the TSOP1838, MCP73831T-2ACI/OT and MIC5219-3.3YM5. By type, the board carries 11 resistors, 7 capacitors, 5 connectors, 4 ICs, 2 switches and 2 LEDs.
It belongs with the displays & leds designs in this gallery.
From the project
A device that controls your TV using IR signals to mimic your TV's remote control. It detects a gesture and then sends the signal that was coded for that gesture. I made it so I can control different media while eating (so I don't have to touch anything with my dirty hands)

Media Controller: common questions
What microcontroller does the Media Controller use?
The Media Controller is built around the ESP32-WROOM-32, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the Media Controller PCB?
The Media Controller measures 32 × 130 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Media Controller?
34 components, from 23 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Media Controller design files?
From the mkhairyx/Media_Controller repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Media Controller design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with mkhairyx. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Media Controller without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
