About the Custom devboard PCB

Custom devboard is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by MohamadAminGhanoum, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 26.7 × 51.3 mm, with 36 components from 17 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the NCP1117-3.3_SOT223 and W25Q128JVS. By type, the board carries 19 capacitors, 7 resistors, 4 connectors, 3 ICs, 1 crystal and 1 switch.

It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

From the project

I will make custom devboard that i can use to create projects on my breadboard

During this hour, i worked on beginning with the set up of schematic. I followed the guide and learned new things, e.g about the decoupling capacitors and how they function in the circuit. I also learned about how the usb-c is connected in a circuit and what the different pins do.

The finished schematic diagram looks like this:

Then i began building and connecting components pcb i have built: The pcb i did was the most complex i have done so far, it was soo tricky because of the small space, especially when connecting to the rp2040 mcu. As seen in this picture, it was difficult to conenct…

Custom devboard: common questions

What microcontroller does the Custom devboard use?

The Custom devboard is built around the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Custom devboard PCB?

The Custom devboard measures 26.7 × 51.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Custom devboard?

36 components, from 17 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Custom devboard design files?

From the MohamadAminGhanoum/Custom-devboard repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Custom devboard design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with MohamadAminGhanoum. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Custom devboard without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
