About the MOSHield PCB

MOSHield is an open source PCB design by MOSH-Insa-Toulouse, published on GitHub under the CC0-1.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 68.6 × 64.8 mm, with 22 components from 15 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the LTC1050 and MCP41100. By type, the board carries 7 resistors, 6 connectors, 5 capacitors, 2 ICs and 1 transistor.

It belongs with the rf & radio and sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

LoRa application on an Arduino board to send data from a sensor to a dashboard (e.g. Node-Red)

Authors: Arthur Gautheron, Olivier Lagrost

The final objective of the Smart Devices UF is to "design and build a smart device based on the combination of a gas sensor and an electronic card to communicate information over a low speed network". It is a pluridisciplinary subject that combines skills from all educational backgrounds included in the PTP. GP (physics) students are best at designing a PCB and creating datasheets. AE (electronics) students, such as ourselves, prefer electrical schematics, embedded programming and have a better understanding of how to design the whole system…

MOSHield: common questions

How big is the MOSHield PCB?

The MOSHield measures 68.6 × 64.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the MOSHield?

22 components, from 15 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the MOSHield design files?

From the MOSH-Insa-Toulouse/5ISS-Gautheron-Lagrost repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the MOSHield design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CC0-1.0 license, which MOSH-Insa-Toulouse chose for the repository.
