About the LongCat PCB

LongCat is an open source ESP32 PCB design by nabeellagi, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 49 × 119.8 mm, with 37 components from 22 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-C6-WROOM-1, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the LM1117MP-3.3 and USBLC6-2SC6. By type, the board carries 8 switches, 8 resistors, 7 capacitors, 4 diodes, 3 ICs and 2 connectors.

It belongs with the iot & wireless and power & battery designs in this gallery.

Custom Console

A custom ESP32-C6 retro game console + fox-themed powerbank, built from scratch. By Nabeel — 18, Indonesia

Long Cat is a handheld retro game console built around a custom ESP32-C6 PCB, put inside a 3D-printed enclosure featuring a long, stoopid cat on the back. It has a 1.3" OLED screen, 5 interface buttons, and a passive buzzer.

FoxCharge is its companion: a fox-themed powerbank with its own custom PCB, and a "Charging Social Battery" label on the back — totally relateable.

LongCat: common questions

What microcontroller does the LongCat use?

The LongCat is built around the ESP32-C6-WROOM-1, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the LongCat PCB?

The LongCat measures 49 × 119.8 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the LongCat?

37 components, from 22 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the LongCat design files?

From the nabeellagi/LongCat repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the LongCat design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with nabeellagi. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the LongCat without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
