Radiators can only radiate a certain amount of heat defined by their construction and size - unless we force some air through them! This can be done passively by building a "chimney" around them and using the chimney-effect, and/or by attaching fans. Many commercially available fan-retrofitting kits or even radiators with fans included use noisy low quality fans, don´t allow for a lot of control, and are often very expensive. So you might want to add your own.

Lueftermonster: common questions

What microcontroller does the Lueftermonster use?

The Lueftermonster is built around the C701342, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Lueftermonster PCB?

The Lueftermonster measures 94 × 60 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Lueftermonster?

92 components, from 26 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Lueftermonster design files?

From the Nebukadneza/lueftermonster repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Lueftermonster design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Nebukadneza. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Lueftermonster without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
