About the Riotee ProbeHardware PCB

Riotee ProbeHardware is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by NessieCircuits, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-W-2.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 43.2 × 22.9 mm, with 69 components from 21 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the W25Q16JVUXIQ, 74LVC2T45GT,115, TPS71721DCK, TLV73333PDBV and TS5A3166YZP. By type, the board carries 28 capacitors, 27 resistors, 9 ICs, 2 connectors, 2 diodes and 1 crystal.

From the project

The Riotee probe lets you program a Riotee module that is soldered onto your PCB or plugged into a breadboard. It has a standard 10-pin 0.1" connector compatible with the popular Tag-Connect cables that allow in-circuit debugging with a very small footprint.

Riotee ProbeHardware: common questions

What microcontroller does the Riotee ProbeHardware use?

The Riotee ProbeHardware is built around the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Riotee ProbeHardware PCB?

The Riotee ProbeHardware measures 43.2 × 22.9 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.64 mm thick.

How many components are on the Riotee ProbeHardware?

69 components, from 21 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Riotee ProbeHardware design files?

From the NessieCircuits/Riotee_ProbeHardware repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Riotee ProbeHardware design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-W-2.0 license, which NessieCircuits chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Riotee ProbeHardware without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
