FastLOGIC is an open source STM32 PCB design by Neumi, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 123 × 87.5 mm, with 181 components from 81 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F407VGTX, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the LM78M05_TO252, EL817, MAX485E, CP2102N-A01-GQFN28 and AMS1117-3.3. By type, the board carries 66 resistors, 43 capacitors, 25 connectors, 19 diodes, 9 ICs and 6 transistors.

It belongs with the sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

An affordable Arduino-based board designed for straightforward (industrial) logic control, ideal for building small-scale automation and control solutions. FastLOGIC! is designed to cater to the automation needs of various small applications.

Use cases could be one of these: - a programmable fridge controller - water level-dependent pump controller - a timer that is triggered by a button - an actuator that activates and moves to an end stop upon receiving a triggering input - some sensor data you need to display - a water level sensor/alarm - you get the idea

The Arduino library can be used to get started. A few example sketches show what fastLOGIC! is capable of, how to read sensor data and how to write outputs to the LEDs and relays.

FastLOGIC: common questions

What microcontroller does the FastLOGIC use?

The FastLOGIC is built around the STM32F407VGTX, from the STM32 family.

How big is the FastLOGIC PCB?

The FastLOGIC measures 123 × 87.5 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the FastLOGIC?

181 components, from 81 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the FastLOGIC design files?

From the Neumi/fastLOGIC repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the FastLOGIC design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which Neumi chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the FastLOGIC without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
