About the Spider PCB
Spider is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by niklasekstrom, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 39.2 × 26.5 mm, with 34 components from 18 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the SN74CBTD3384CPWR, SN74LVC125AIPWREP, SN74LVC2G32DCUR, W25Q32RVXHJQ TR and TLV1117LV33DCYR. By type, the board carries 19 capacitors, 6 ICs, 4 connectors, 4 resistors and 1 crystal.
It belongs with the retro computing designs in this gallery.
From the project
SPIder is an adapter that interfaces SPI devices to the clockport on an Amiga
SPIder is an adapter that connects to the clockport on an Amiga, and provides two SPI controllers and additional GPIO pins.
SPIder is built around the RP2040 microcontroller. GPIO pins 0..15 on the RP2040 are connected to the clockport, and pins 16..29 are available on a pin header. GPIO pins 16..29 have multiple alternative functions. A table with the possible functions for the GPIO pins are available in section 1.4.3 of the RP2040 datasheet.

Spider: common questions
What microcontroller does the Spider use?
The Spider is built around the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.
How big is the Spider PCB?
The Spider measures 39.2 × 26.5 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1 mm thick.
How many components are on the Spider?
34 components, from 18 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Spider design files?
From the niklasekstrom/spider repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Spider design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with niklasekstrom. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Spider without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
