Board was designed with free Open Source CAD software - KiCAD, if you have trouble opening the design files use newest KiCAD version.

Folder "3D printed Case" contains STL files for multi material 3D printing of the encolosure.

revision B1 ====== 1. Added diode 1N5819/S4 on FUSE1 pads to enable 5V on HDMI (diode is used to prevent HDMI powering the board). You can try this adjustmest if you have older revision (with nothing placed over FUSE1) and problems with monitor, remember diode has direction and cathode has to be towards the HDMI…

Neo6502 Rev B: common questions

What microcontroller does the Neo6502 Rev B use?

The Neo6502 Rev B is built around the RP2040(QFN-56_7x7mm_P0.4mm), from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Neo6502 Rev B PCB?

The Neo6502 Rev B measures 80 × 55 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Neo6502 Rev B?

98 components, from 40 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Neo6502 Rev B design files?

From the OLIMEX/Neo6502 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Neo6502 Rev B design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with OLIMEX. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Neo6502 Rev B without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
