About the OpenPEMF PCB

OpenPEMF is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by openPEMF, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 49.7 × 99.8 mm, with 113 components from 39 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the C2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the C6961, C32565, C97521, C6186 and C87080. By type, the board carries 46 capacitors, 25 resistors, 18 diodes, 8 ICs, 8 connectors and 5 transistors.

From the project

Open Source PEMF Hardware and Firmware

Open source PEMF project that includes the hardware and firmware for anyone looking to build their own PEMF device

- Aren't there already some open source PEMF projects? Yes, but many of them do not create the same fields used in the majority of published PEMF parameters. Most of them also have switching characteristics that cause spurious spike and oscillations that could be considered "dirty electricity"

OpenPEMF: common questions

What microcontroller does the OpenPEMF use?

The OpenPEMF is built around the C2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the OpenPEMF PCB?

The OpenPEMF measures 49.7 × 99.8 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the OpenPEMF?

113 components, from 39 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the OpenPEMF design files?

From the openPEMF/openPEMF repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the OpenPEMF design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which openPEMF chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the OpenPEMF without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
