An ESP32 based smart watch (WIP)

An ESP32-S3 based open source smartwatch running OpenTimeWatch OS.

The OpenTimeWatch-1 is a DIY affordable smartwatch which can be used as a fitness tracker, home automation device, ethical hacking device and more! It contains a powerful ESP32-S3 dual core processor which unlocks even more potential for the watch and eqquiped with WiFi, bluetooth and an IR transmitter this watch can controll and communicate with a variety of devices. MPU6050 gives a sense of motion, the torch and the speaker gives more accesibility. The watch's software is very flexible and allows you to write your own…

OpenTimeWatch-1: common questions

What microcontroller does the OpenTimeWatch-1 use?

The OpenTimeWatch-1 is built around the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the OpenTimeWatch-1 PCB?

The OpenTimeWatch-1 measures 35 × 44 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the OpenTimeWatch-1?

41 components, from 25 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the OpenTimeWatch-1 design files?

From the OpenTimeWatch-Project/OpenTimeWatch-1 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the OpenTimeWatch-1 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which OpenTimeWatch-Project chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the OpenTimeWatch-1 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
