Its main chip is the MDBT53-1M, from the Nordic nRF family. Other key parts include the BMI160, BQ25120AYFPR, AP22916BCA4-7, XL-0201SURC and KTD2026EWE. By type, the board carries 42 capacitors, 21 resistors, 13 ICs, 3 transistors, 2 connectors and 1 crystal.

It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts and power & battery designs in this gallery.

From the project

Haven — KiCad port of the dev board (nRF5340 + ADAU1860 DSP), based on the stock OpenEarable 2.0 design

A from-scratch KiCad recreation of the stock OpenEarable hardware (the base Haven is built from), generated programmatically from the real EasyEDA Pro project data rather than hand-traced from screenshots. This is not a copy-paste of the user's live EasyEDA edits — it's a fresh port of the stock OpenEarable design (OpenEarable-PCB-main-2.0.epro), per the explicit scope agreed before this work started.

Haven dev board: common questions

What microcontroller does the Haven dev board use?

The Haven dev board is built around the MDBT53-1M, from the Nordic nRF family.

How big is the Haven dev board?

The Haven dev board measures 72.9 × 160.9 mm, has 6 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Haven dev board?

89 components, from 48 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Haven dev board design files?

From the pauliano22/haven-dev-board-kicad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Haven dev board design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with pauliano22. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Haven dev board without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Nordic nRF firmware against it before you order a PCB.
