About the PMK 180mm PCB

PMK 180mm is an open source ESP32 PCB design by PumaFPV, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 181.7 × 172.3 mm, with 147 components from 37 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-S2FH4, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the BQ24075RGTR, MIC5528-3.3YMT-T5 and SN74HC165PWR. By type, the board carries 43 diodes, 42 switches, 23 capacitors, 23 resistors, 9 ICs and 3 connectors.

It belongs with the keyboards and iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

From the project

PMK - Full wireless split keyboard

The goal is to make a suit of wireless devices such as "smart keyboard" (combined mouse and keyboard), gamepad, LEDs, knobs, display, etc The first step is to make a wireless split keyboard, and then we will see later...

Currently, you can connect up to 8 (software limited) devices per dongle, each of them having up to 8 (software limited) layers. Layers only affect keyboards and LED.

PMK 180mm: common questions

What microcontroller does the PMK 180mm use?

The PMK 180mm is built around the ESP32-S2FH4, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the PMK 180mm PCB?

The PMK 180mm measures 181.7 × 172.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the PMK 180mm?

147 components, from 37 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the PMK 180mm design files?

From the PumaFPV/PMK repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the PMK 180mm design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which PumaFPV chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the PMK 180mm without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
