About the Serial number PCB

Serial number is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by PurkkaKoodari, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 80 × 36.6 mm, with 26 components from 12 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATtiny1614-SS, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the AMS1117-3.3 and TXS0108EPW. By type, the board carries 15 capacitors, 3 ICs, 3 diodes, 2 connectors, 1 transistor and 1 inductor.

Fully playable hardware implementation of Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes. Mirror of https://gitlab.com/PurkkaKoodari/ktane-hw

This project is a hardware reimplementation of the game [Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes][ktane]. The game runs fully on the physical device and is controlled using a web interface over Wi-Fi. The project will be documented in this repository – expect the links below to be broken for the near future.

The hardware is built around a Raspberry Pi Zero W, which runs the main controller software, attached to a backplane that provides power, connectivity and audio. The game's modules are built as independent devices, usually based on an Arduino Nano, which connect to the backplane using…

Serial number: common questions

What microcontroller does the Serial number use?

The Serial number is built around the ATtiny1614-SS, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Serial number PCB?

The Serial number measures 80 × 36.6 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Serial number?

26 components, from 12 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Serial number design files?

From the PurkkaKoodari/ktane-hw repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Serial number design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which PurkkaKoodari chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Serial number without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
