About the Spark-2350 PCB

Spark-2350 is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by PythonAtSea, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 42.9 × 71.5 mm, with 58 components from 31 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RP2350_80QFN, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the <value>, MCP73871, MCP1700x-330xxTT and W25Q128JVS. By type, the board carries 22 capacitors, 21 resistors, 5 ICs, 3 connectors, 3 diodes and 2 switches.

It belongs with the power & battery and iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

From the project

The spark!2350 is a RP2350 based microcontroller that has a RM2 chip for BLE and WiFi. It also has a LiPo battery charger, as it is designed for use in mireless keyboards. It also has a user accesable NeoPixel, and a variable charge rate.

I saw the release of the RM2 and I immediatly knew I wanted to make something with it. I've always thought the nice!nano was cool, so I kinda made that, although this is designed for maximum GPIO availibility, not small size.

Spark-2350: common questions

What microcontroller does the Spark-2350 use?

The Spark-2350 is built around the RP2350_80QFN, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Spark-2350 PCB?

The Spark-2350 measures 42.9 × 71.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Spark-2350?

58 components, from 31 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Spark-2350 design files?

From the PythonAtSea/spark-2350 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Spark-2350 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with PythonAtSea. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Spark-2350 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
