About the YerraGlasses PCB

YerraGlasses is an open source ESP32 PCB design by rbala25, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 74.5 × 21.5 mm, with 40 components from 20 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the MAX98357A, RT9013-33GB and R-78E5.0-1.0. By type, the board carries 12 capacitors, 9 resistors, 6 connectors, 5 ICs, 5 diodes and 2 fuses.

It belongs with the audio designs in this gallery.

From the project

Audio Augmented Smart Glasses - ESP32, Hardware Build, System Integration, and Firmware (C)

Audio-augmented smart glasses that act as a wearable guide dog — real-time object detection converted to spatial audio feedback, all running on an ESP32-S3 tucked inside a glasses frame.

Embedded ML Object Detection — Neural network running on a Luckfox RV1103 NPU detects objects from live visual input and converts them into real-time auditory cues. Designed to assist blind and visually impaired users without any cloud dependency.

YerraGlasses: common questions

What microcontroller does the YerraGlasses use?

The YerraGlasses is built around the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the YerraGlasses PCB?

The YerraGlasses measures 74.5 × 21.5 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the YerraGlasses?

40 components, from 20 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the YerraGlasses design files?

From the rbala25/YerraGlasses repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the YerraGlasses design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with rbala25. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the YerraGlasses without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
