From the project

The Eagle: Custom STM32F405 4-Layer Autonomous Avionics Flight Controller PCB

The Eagle is a custom, 4-layer high-reliability avionics flight controller (FC) designed around the STMicroelectronics STM32F405RGT6 microcontroller. Engineered for autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and high-performance robotics platforms, the board integrates high-bandwidth IMU telemetry, multi-stage power conditioning, blackbox high-rate logging, and deterministic motor signaling into a 40.0 × 40.0 mm board footprint with a 34.0 × 34.0 mm mounting hole pattern.

The-Eagle: common questions

What microcontroller does the The-Eagle use?

The The-Eagle is built around the STM32F405RGT6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the The-Eagle PCB?

The The-Eagle measures 40 × 40 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the The-Eagle?

71 components, from 46 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the The-Eagle design files?

From the sbbxiii/The-Eagle repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the The-Eagle design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which sbbxiii chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the The-Eagle without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
