About the Uni60 Hotswap PCB

Uni60 Hotswap is an open source STM32 PCB design by ShentoBento, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 284.7 × 94.2 mm, with 174 components from 18 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F072CBTx, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the XC6206PxxxMR and USBLC6-2SC6. By type, the board carries 72 diodes, 9 capacitors, 6 connectors, 3 ICs, 2 switches and 1 resistor.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

From the project

A collection of Universal QMK Compatible PCBs, prioritizing layout selection, board compatibility, connector options

Most custom keyboard cases are designed around one specific PCB. The boards in this repo work the other way around. Each one is built to drop into as many cases of its form factor as possible, by supporting a wide range of layouts and matching the connector and mounting positions that different cases expect.

Each board's folder has its own README with full specs, layout diagrams and ordering files.

Uni60 Hotswap: common questions

What microcontroller does the Uni60 Hotswap use?

The Uni60 Hotswap is built around the STM32F072CBTx, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Uni60 Hotswap PCB?

The Uni60 Hotswap measures 284.7 × 94.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Uni60 Hotswap?

174 components, from 18 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Uni60 Hotswap design files?

From the ShentoBento/Universal_PCBs repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Uni60 Hotswap design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with ShentoBento. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Uni60 Hotswap without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
