About the CPU Board

CPU Board is an open source PCB design by stevegg, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 99.8 × 99.8 mm, with 29 components from 14 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the GAL16V8, 74LS148 and 68010D. By type, the board carries 13 resistors, 6 capacitors, 4 ICs, 2 connectors, 2 diodes and 1 crystal.

It belongs with the retro computing designs in this gallery.

From the project

Single Board 68k Computer

This is my extremely simple 68000 single board computer. It has 512k of ROM and 512k of RAM.

I'm building this to learn the fundamentals of microprocessors and their use in computer systems. Modern day computers are complex and require specific supporting chip sets. These retro processors were simple and much easier to understand but in the end the principles are the same.
