About the RC6502 ROM PCB

RC6502 ROM is an open source PCB design by tebl, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 99.1 × 54.6 mm, with 14 components from 11 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the 28C256 and 74HCT00. By type, the board carries 5 jumpers, 3 ICs, 3 capacitors, 2 resistors and 1 connector.

It belongs with the retro computing designs in this gallery.

From the project

An expandable SBC-version of the Apple 1 computer, easy to get started with and lot of cool stuff that can be added to it!

The original Apple 1 computer only came with 256 bytes of ROM (Read Only Memory), the bulk of this taken up by the included machine monitor later dubbed WozMon. The machine monitor in itself was written by Wozniak himself by manually entering the data corresponding to the various 6502 instructions and operands byte by byte, mainly because he did not have a computer and the software available to even write assembly level code! An amazing performance by todays standards, though not entirely unheard of in those days since most software was only available for equipment most couldn't even get…
