About the Pcb

Pcb is an open source Nordic nRF PCB design by teehee567, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 56 × 20.5 mm, with 20 components from 15 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the 102010448, from the Nordic nRF family. Other key parts include the NEO-M9V-20B, AP2112K-3.3TRG1 and MCP73831T-2ACI/OT. By type, the board carries 7 capacitors, 5 resistors, 4 ICs, 1 connector, 1 battery holder and 1 diode.

It belongs with the rf & radio, iot & wireless and sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

gnss module collecting track data

Aevia is a DIY, battery powered lap timer and track data logger. The current hardware is the V2 Mini, a compact board that combines multi-band GNSS, a 6-axis IMU, local storage, a display interface, physical controls, and wireless connectivity.

Uses very very high end sensors, UM980, SCH16T-K01

The goal is to build something in the same general space as a Garmin Catalyst, but at a lower cost and with more control over the hardware, raw data, and software. Recorded data should also remain useful outside the device, with export to proper desktop analysis tools.

Pcb: common questions

What microcontroller does the Pcb use?

The Pcb is built around the 102010448, from the Nordic nRF family.

How big is the Pcb?

The Pcb measures 56 × 20.5 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Pcb?

20 components, from 15 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Pcb design files?

From the teehee567/Aevia repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Pcb design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with teehee567. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Pcb without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Nordic nRF firmware against it before you order a PCB.
