About the Ground Reciever PCB

Ground Reciever is an open source NXP PCB design by Terrapin-Rocket-Team, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 68.6 × 91.4 mm, with 19 components from 10 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Teensy_4.1, from the NXP family. By type, the board carries 6 connectors, 5 diodes and 5 resistors.

From the project

Code and PCBs for the avionics subteam for the SRAD flight computer and side projects

The avionics subteam manages this repo, as well as the Multi-Mission-Flight-Software and Ground Station repositories. Look at the Issues tab for tasks that need to be done, and the Projects tab for the current status of the Avionics subteam as a whole.

Most of our development for our competition rocket systems will be within the /Spaceport/ directory. Here, the parts are broken up by whether they are hardware, PCBs, or code.

Ground Reciever: common questions

What microcontroller does the Ground Reciever use?

The Ground Reciever is built around the Teensy_4.1, from the NXP family.

How big is the Ground Reciever PCB?

The Ground Reciever measures 68.6 × 91.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Ground Reciever?

19 components, from 10 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Ground Reciever design files?

From the Terrapin-Rocket-Team/SRAD-Avionics repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Ground Reciever design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Terrapin-Rocket-Team. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Ground Reciever without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug NXP firmware against it before you order a PCB.
