About the Pendant usbc tester PCB
Pendant usbc tester is an open source ESP32 PCB design by thesleepyniko, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 79.5 × 61.5 mm, with 15 components from 9 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the XIAO-ESP32-C3-DIP, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the AMS1117-3.3 and ER_OLEDM0.91_1x-I2C. By type, the board carries 8 resistors, 3 ICs, 2 transistors and 2 connectors.

Simple little USB-C cable tester. Is only able to test whether or not:
1. A cable is capable of sending data, even if slower than spec 2. A cable is capable of sending power
This is not an inline tester. If you plug this inline, it'll probably blow up. Try not to make it blow up :(
(PS: you could also probably swap out the bolts with just some zip ties)
Excluding shipping this is roughly around ~18.21$, no shipping or bolts included

Pendant usbc tester: common questions
What microcontroller does the Pendant usbc tester use?
The Pendant usbc tester is built around the XIAO-ESP32-C3-DIP, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the Pendant usbc tester PCB?
The Pendant usbc tester measures 79.5 × 61.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Pendant usbc tester?
15 components, from 9 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Pendant usbc tester design files?
From the thesleepyniko/pendant-usbc-tester repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Pendant usbc tester design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with thesleepyniko. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Pendant usbc tester without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
