About the Rx V1.2 PCB

Rx V1.2 is an open source ESP32 PCB design by TRD-B, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 70 × 40 mm, with 50 components from 21 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Seeedstudio Xiao ESP32 C3, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the DRV8876 (QFN) and TSR_1-2450. By type, the board carries 25 resistors, 9 connectors, 5 transistors, 5 capacitors, 3 ICs and 1 buzzer.

It belongs with the robotics & motion, iot & wireless and power & battery designs in this gallery.

Open source RC platform

Description --- EasyRC is an easy-to-build platform for creating your own remote-controlled vehicle. The platform includes CAD files for printing an affordable 1:16 scale car as well as a small remote control. Further, it includes the project and production files for the printed circuit boards that are needed to power these devices. Last but not least, it lists all required components in a bill of materials and comes with a complete instruction manual that shows how to print, solder, assemble, program, and adjust everything for running the car. The legacy folder contains data and information…

Rx V1.2: common questions

What microcontroller does the Rx V1.2 use?

The Rx V1.2 is built around the Seeedstudio Xiao ESP32 C3, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Rx V1.2 PCB?

The Rx V1.2 measures 70 × 40 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Rx V1.2?

50 components, from 21 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Rx V1.2 design files?

From the TRD-B/EasyRC repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Rx V1.2 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which TRD-B chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Rx V1.2 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
