About the PicoMEM PCB

PicoMEM is an open source Raspberry Pi PCB design by wichers, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 106 × 77.3 mm, with 35 components from 18 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RaspberryPi_Pico_W, from the Raspberry Pi family. Other key parts include the SN74LVC257APWR, SN74CB3T3245PWR, SN74LVC04ADR, LY68L6400SLIT and SN74LVC1G06DBVR. By type, the board carries 14 capacitors, 9 ICs, 6 connectors, 4 resistors and 1 diode.

From the project

Reverse-engineered schematic for the PicoMEM board.

This repository contains the reverse-engineered schematic for the PicoMEM board, version 1.14.

The PicoMEM is a popular multifunction board, providing Fast-IDE and SD Card storage capabilities.

This project aims to provide a clear, accurate, and freely available schematic for the v1.14 revision, facilitating:

Repair and Diagnosis: Easier troubleshooting of existing PicoMEM v1.14 boards. Study and Learning: A resource for understanding the hardware implementation and integration. Future Development:** A solid foundation for potential hardware modifications or compatibility efforts.

PicoMEM: common questions

What microcontroller does the PicoMEM use?

The PicoMEM is built around the RaspberryPi_Pico_W, from the Raspberry Pi family.

How big is the PicoMEM PCB?

The PicoMEM measures 106 × 77.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the PicoMEM?

35 components, from 18 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the PicoMEM design files?

From the wichers/PicoMEM repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the PicoMEM design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with wichers. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the PicoMEM without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Raspberry Pi firmware against it before you order a PCB.
